Linda Kluy

I was a small business owner for over 30 years, working in residential construction and design that involved managing projects from inception to completion. Before starting my business, I served 10 years as chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission in Stillwater, MN. During the first year of ownership at Silver Sands I volunteered for and was appointed chair of the pools committee. I was elected to the board of directors in 2018 and served as president for two years. My main goal was to make sure the community was fiscally sound and that we had funds to maintain and replace community assets in a timely manner. Cooperating with the rest of the board, we promoted the plan to repair our aging infrastructure and were successful in implementing a special assessment to accomplish this objective.

Pat Carey

My wife Barbara and I moved to Silver Sands in 2014 not knowing what a ¨snowbird¨ lifestyle would be like. Since then we have met wonderful people, many who have become dear friends. Gayl Baum drafted me immediately onto the maintenance committee where I served as chair for six years. As chair of the maintenance committee I learned all about Silver Sands' roofs, roads, paint, stucco, concrete curbing, pools, security, electrical, etc. I have also served on several other committees which has given me a broad perspective and strong understanding of the workings and needs of SSRC.

Neil Jacoby

My wife, Karen, and I have been owners and residents at Silver Sands since 2013. We spend our winters at Silver Sands while our principal residence is in Toronto, Canada.  

I retired in 2015 after working in the investment management industry for 40 years, including 20 years as president and chief investment officer of a Toronto based investment management firm. My business career specialized in the areas of finance, economics, investments, strategic planning and organizational governance. I have a wide range of board experience in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. I currently provide investment consulting to a leading Canadian foundation. I was a member of an advisory board for a real estate investment firm and was past chair of a pension investment association in Canada. From 2008-2017 I was a director at the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto and served as board chair for 2 years. From 2018-2023 I was a director at our Toronto condominium corporation and served as treasurer and chair of the finance committee for that entire time. Responsibilities included overseeing the investment strategy and activities for the corporation’s $2.6 million reserve fund.  

At Silver Sands I was a member of the finance committee from 2019-2022, where I prepared a Statement of Investment Policies for the Association’s funds and served as finance liaison to the maintenance committee. Since 2022 I have been chair of the tennis committee.   I am a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and have my Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D).

Cindy Bordeaux

My husband Forrest and I have been owners at 14 Bonita Lane since 2009. Originally, we purchased our condo together with my parents, Joe and Barbara Bordeaux who wintered at Silver Sands for many years. We have two grown children, Megan 29 and Rob 27. Now fully retired, we spend summers at our home in Washington State and winters at Silver Sands where we enjoy playing pickleball and helping with many of the events. 

I began my professional career in the financial services industry. I started as a financial advisor and worked my way through different leadership roles, ultimately retiring as an executive vice president. I helped develop and run 23 offices across the country. I specialized in hiring, training, and mentoring advisors and managers. We focused on helping retirees, families and businesses plan for their current and financial futures. This involved extensive work with budgeting, Investing, saving, risk management and team building. I also have extensive experience with fundraising, having raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for nonprofit groups in California, Oregon and Washington.

Ben Hendrix

The Silver Sands community has been a part of our family life for many years. My wife, Chris Bonnell, and I have deep ties to the community through her parents, Roger and Arlene Bonnell, who purchased a home here in 1990. Over the years we have vacationed here with our children and grandchildren. We purchased our home from Arlene in 2022 and believe Silver Sands to be a unique and special community.

While retired now, I spent my career as a veterinarian in clinical practice followed by years in the veterinary pharmaceutical and nutrition industry. During these years I gravitated to the business side of our profession and managed business affairs from small business locations to larger sales and technical teams within larger national corporations. Volunteerism has been a part of my working life as well. I served on the board of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation and as a part time clinician with a Feline Rescue Group in Portland, OR.

We have met many wonderful Silver Sands neighbors, playing pickleball, tennis, learning yoga and enjoying our very fun social events. We look forward to more of that in years to come.
