As a cost saving initiative, the board has decided to eliminate the nightly “patrol service” of the Securitas contract effective December 31, 2021. The Security committee agrees with the board’s decision but wants to let everyone know, we as homeowners need to be diligent in our efforts to look out for our own secure measures along with those of our neighbors. Here are some things you can do to help secure your home and our community.
- Make sure you close your garage doors, especially overnight and let your neighbors know if they have left their garage door open. (Securitas patrols frequently found garage doors open late at night and early hours of the morning)
- Make sure you and your guests do not park on the street overnight as that is a violation of rules. (Securitas patrols frequently found parking violations)
- Be on the lookout for lights that are not working and report them. (Securitas patrols found lights that were not working)
- If you see something suspicious or just doesn’t seem right, report it to DRM and they will follow up with the right people to handle it. If it is an emergency item needing immediate attention call 911.
Remember most thefts happen when the opportunity arises, open garage doors, unlocked gates and doors, items like bicycles left in the driveway overnight.
