Beginning in January we will be reverting to Tuesday afternoon drop-in play rather than Wednesdays. Play will still be from 4:00 to 5:30 with happy hour to follow. Movie and game nights will alternate on Wednesdays. 

We are looking forward to a full season this winter. Rhenn, our pro, has some great plans for fun events. Our first exchange is Jan. 8. The 16 slots are full, but we will be planning more exchanges in the future. These are fun mixers with other clubs. I encourage all of you to think about signing up for one.

Because court three has been resurfaced and painted for tennis, we will have to tape it when we need it for extra playing space. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes. We are hoping that players will step up and offer to help out so it does not always fall on the same people to do the taping.

Welcome to all pickleball players, old and new. This season we have Rhenn Ramirez as our head pro, with an assisting  staff, all of whom are certified to teach pickleball. They are available for lessons for one, two or three people. Rates are posted at the office. Signup is also arranged at the office with the pros.

Three days a week the courts may be booked in advance for your specific foursome. Booking must be done through the online court booking system. Courts may be reserved five days in advance. If you do not have an account, go to the court booking system and follow the instructions or see Rhenn at the clubhouse office.

When the schedule says “open play” anyone may come to the courts to get into a game. Players should rotate in and out and should try to find partners at their own level.

8:30 - 10:00 am
All levels mix for this social play.
Coffee and doughnuts at the clubhouse at 10:00 am.

Courts are available for open play the remainder of the day.

Monday Advance Booking
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Courts may be booked in 1.5 hour segments.

Tuesday Free Clinic
8:30 - 10:00 am
Alternating each week between beginning/intermediate and  intermediate/advanced.  
Sign up in advance through the the online court booking system.

The courts are available for open play the remainder of the day.

Wednesday Advance Booking
8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Courts may be booked in 1.5 hour segments until 4:00 pm.

Wednesday Drop-in Play
4:00 - 5:30 pm
All levels mix for this social play.  
Happy hour to follow at 5:30 pm.  
Please bring an appetizer to share, plus your own drinks, cups, plates and utensils.

Thursday Round Robin
8-30 - 10:00 am.  
Sign up is at the courts between 8:00 and 8:15 am.  
Warmup from 8:15 to 8:30 am.  
Play starts right at 8:30 am.
Please do not be late and do not leave early.

The Pickleball Committee has voted to change the mask and guest policy as follows:

Beginning immediately, masks will no longer be required for play.  They will, however, continue to be mandatory in the waiting area next to the courts. As before, people are asked to play only with others with whom they feel comfortable and safe.    

Guests may now play on our courts. Reservations for groups, including off-site guests, may be made after 6:00 PM on the night before the reservation is requested. Therefore residents should be certain to make their court reservations before 6:00 the night before they want to play. Remember that courts can now be booked five days in advance.

Pickleball Committee

In order to comply with Riverside County standards, no more than two foursomes may play pickleball at any time until further notice. As well, the two foursomes must be on opposite sides of the large dividing net.

To address this reduction in court capacity, the board has approved the emergency use of the adjacent tennis court (court 3) for pickleball play. Two courts have now been taped onto court 3. They are numbered court 10 and court 12 so when you use the online booking system, courts 9 and 11 will be the kitty - corner courts on court 2, and courts 10 and 12 will be the two courts on court 3.

Please note that court 3 will revert to tennis use while courts 6 & 7 are closed for resurfacing. This is expected to happen in mid- December.

We ask that all players abide by the new guidelines - no one wants to be a policeman. If a third foursome is found to be playing on court 2, the board will remove the nets from the two remaining courts.
 
In addition, masks must be worn during play, as the board feels that players cannot stay six feet apart while playing doubles on a pickleball court. A mask must cover your nose and mouth at all times. Playing with a mask on your chin or under your nose does not provide adequate protection. We ask that everyone show enough concern for their neighbors and friends to wear their masks appropriately at all times while on the courts.
