Due to COVID and flu concerns, this event will be held on the clubhouse patio.

Please join new Silver Sands resident and certified 500 hour level yoga Instructor Kelley Belanger as she leads Hatha yoga classes beginning Tuesday, December 6.

When: Tuesday and Friday mornings, 10:00 - 11:00 am

Where: Silver Sands Community Clubhouse
(We may also practice outside as weather permits and class desires.)

What: Hatha yoga classes: All levels of experience and abilities welcome!

Cost: $10 per class

Benefits: Increased flexibility, strength, balance, calm, decreased mental and physical tension/pain

Instructor: Kelley Belanger
Kelley has been practicing yoga since age 15 and has been a certified instructor since 2017. She teaches Hatha and chair yoga online and has certifications and experience in teaching various styles including senior yoga, Yin yoga, mindfulness and meditation practices and yoga for pain relief and stress reduction.
Bring: A yoga mat plus a blanket and yoga blocks if you use them!

Fire investigators have determined the probable cause of the recent fire at 6 San Felipe was lithium batteries that were being charged on a work bench in the garage. The fire destroyed the garage and left the house severely smoke-damaged and uninhabitable.

The owners, Sue & Grant Steeves, have no idea how long it will take to rebuild but they are hoping to be back in their place next fall. They are looking for a place to store their car and some belongings in December and January. As well they are looking for a place to rent from February through April 2023. If you know anyone that might be willing to rent to them, please pass their contact information along.

Sue & Grant are deeply appreciative of all the support they have received from the Silver Sands community.

A significant structure fire occurred in Silver Sands just before 5 pm on Saturday. There was extensive damage to 6 San Felipe and multiple fire personnel from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded. There was no one at home when the fire occurred. While fire and smoke damage may be considerable, it does not appear that it spread significantly beyond this address.

More information will be shared as it becomes available.

The tennis committee is excited to announce the programming for the 2022-2023 season.

There will be regular weekly clinics for all levels of play that will focus on a variety of skills, strategies and both mental and physical fitness. In addition, we will be continuing with the social tennis on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Private lessons are also available from our pro D’Wayne Begay.

We are also planning the following events:

Home and away exchanges within the Coachella Valley.
Road trips to play other clubs in Southern California.
Inter-club league play.
Seasonal social events.
