Jimi died peacefully on August 24, 2021 surrounded by her family. She lived 96 extraordinary years, and lived every second of them, which was her special genius.
She was born in Far Rockaway, NY, but grew up a city kid in Manhattan, a place she would always hold dear. She also loved Broadway musicals, and the radio comedy of Fred Allen (for whose show she wrote), and FDR (but mostly Eleanor), and Adlai Stevenson, and Barack Obama, and anyone else who worked shoulder-to-shoulder with her on what she would call “ fighting the good fight” throughout the years (and even the stray miscreants who did not). But most of all she loved her husband Mac, and sons Scott and Jonathan, and daughter Susan, and grandchildren Jordan, Hannah, Hayley, Ella, and Lexie....none of whom can quite imagine a world without her grace and light.
