2022 Homeowner Directory Ready for Distribution

    directory-blog

The delivery of the directories to your local Silver Sands address will begin January 12 by a group of volunteer homeowners. They will either hand it to you if you answer the door or leave the booklet at your gate.

If you do not want your directory left at your Silver Sands address, please notify us at directory@ssrchoa.com with your name, address and alternate arrangements such as delivering it to a neighbor or friend in the community.

You may, at your expense, request DRM to mail the directory to your “away” address by contacting silversands@drminternet.com.

Note: If you would like to purchase an additional copy of the directory for $5, please email directory@ssrchoa.com.

    Thank you.

    Security Update

    security

As a cost saving initiative, the board has decided to eliminate the nightly “patrol service” of the Securitas contract effective December 31, 2021. The Security committee agrees with the board’s decision but wants to let everyone know, we as homeowners need to be diligent in our efforts to look out for our own secure measures along with those of our neighbors. Here are some things you can do to help secure your home and our community.

    1. Make sure you close your garage doors, especially overnight and let your neighbors know if they have left their garage door open. (Securitas patrols frequently found garage doors open late at night and early hours of the morning)
    2. Make sure you and your guests do not park on the street overnight as that is a violation of rules. (Securitas patrols frequently found parking violations)
    3. Be on the lookout for lights that are not working and report them. (Securitas patrols found lights that were not working)
    4. If you see something suspicious or just doesn’t seem right, report it to DRM and they will follow up with the right people to handle it. If it is an emergency item needing immediate attention call 911.

Remember most thefts happen when the opportunity arises, open garage doors, unlocked gates and doors, items like bicycles left in the driveway overnight.

    Thanks for doing your part.
Lee Rampley, Chair of the Security Committee

    Pickleball Program Update

    pballnew_20211227-215103_1

Beginning in January we will be reverting to Tuesday afternoon drop-in play rather than Wednesdays. Play will still be from 4:00 to 5:30 with happy hour to follow. Movie and game nights will alternate on Wednesdays.

We are looking forward to a full season this winter. Rhenn, our pro, has some great plans for fun events. Our first exchange is Jan. 8. The 16 slots are full, but we will be planning more exchanges in the future. These are fun mixers with other clubs. I encourage all of you to think about signing up for one.

Because court three has been resurfaced and painted for tennis, we will have to tape it when we need it for extra playing space. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes. We are hoping that players will step up and offer to help out so it does not always fall on the same people to do the taping.

I hope you have all had great holiday celebrations and wish everyone a happy and a healthy new year.

    See you on the courts!
Barb Carey and your pickleball committee
